We want to give you a civil, cordial, friendly user experience. We wish to help you transcend the conversation-dominated cultures of other networking services, by providing a tool that gives the everyday user a way to be more productive and empowered.
With this in mind, we ask that our users stick to more than the minimal legal requirements of the license agreement, and actively work to help us keep our site safe, approachable, useful, and pleasant for all participants.
At MemoThis™, we not endorse the content of any memos placed in our service. We do not monitor the site by scanning all memos and are not obligated to remove offensive memos or ascertain legality or worthiness of any posts. However, if users complain, we will do our best to review any memo and determine if a memo should be made private or if the memo or reply comment should be deleted. MemoThis reserves the right to manage user reputations and suspend a user account at its discretion.
Please join us in pledging to adopt the following protocols:
No graffiti
Public memos must be written in English so we can be sure such memos are in conformance with the license agreement and user guidelines. We do not support non-English public memos at this time.
Public memos must be intended to benefit others. They must contain “value added” content, and be relevant to the content of the page they reside on. They cannot appear as code, jargon, esoteric comments, or merely replies to another memo. Do not be overly terse...memos are intended to enrich page content. Be careful not to place public memos about articles on list views, as the article will move out of view and eventually off the page. Place public memos on article pages. Do not place a public memo on a home page if it is more relevant to a content page.
Please do not use memos to cover up or conceal page content.
Graffiti memos, including non-English memos will be removed from the site based on user complaints.
No flaming
Comments in memos, including text and multimedia must not be defamatory, slanderous, libelous or unreasonably disparaging or derogatory of the domain, the ownership entities, to individuals involved in the web publication, or others. If you want to get into an argument, take it outside the service.
Be a problem solver: If a memo indicates dissatisfaction with the web site, web page, or site ownership entity and the web publisher seeks to resolve the issue, the memo author must engage in issue resolution in good faith.
No cussing: Users must attempt to use good language skills and not obscene, vulgar, abusive, or threatening words and phrases. It’s easy to lash out, but we value self control over the temporary satisfaction of verbal abuse.
No spam
Personal public memos must not contain advertising, commercials, commercial offers, solicitations, invitations to conduct commerce or overt plugs by commercial entities or their blogging agents.
Consumers must not use memos as a way to place classified as. We will provide special classified ad memos in the future.
Please do not mention a brand name or business name in a memo in such a way that it appears you are soliciting attempting to convert a user into a customer of a business or a donor of an organization.
No malice
Be honest. Authors of critical remarks should be ready to provide facts to back up their opinions. Do not be a drive-by memo-er! Your reputation depends on your good conduct.
No phishing
Users pledge not to divulge, solicit, or use the system to seek to acquire personal, confidential or private information of other people if it is reasonable to conclude that such information could present a risk of harm the owner of that information.
Users may not use memos as invitations to harm, harass, or intimidate others
Users agree not to plagiarize or violate the copyrights of other users or publishers
User accounts are intended for individual, personal users at home and at work. Business entities may register only as publishers or advertisers. Each such entity will receive a community blog space at MyMemoThis™ if they choose to establish an online presence.
Users agree not to impersonate others or misrepresent their identities within their accounts, or memos, and agree not to use the login credentials of other users. Advertisers and publishers agree not to pose as consumers in commenting on pages in their domains or those of their competitors.
No link spam: Users agree that links provided in any memos they create are representative of and relevant to the memo content. Memos cannot be used as a way to entice user traffic to explicitly adult oriented web sites or for the purpose of conducting illegal or unethical online practices.
No slamming
Users agree not to reproduce or proliferate essentially identical personal memos or attempt to create automated messages. Users attempting to conduct automated activity will be punished.
Help clean-up
Users agree to help keep the system clean by removing their own obsolete memos and memos that violate our policies. Help us keep the site clean of clutter by using the vote and complaint features to mark any public memos that violate the license agreement or guidelines. Please be familiar with the site rules before complaining so your reputation is not affected by frivolous complaints.
Thank you for making our service the most useful and respected site on the net!
